Describe the task before the feature
A feature list can grow indefinitely. A task is more concrete: someone needs to record information, find a record, or understand what happens next. Describe that moment in ordinary language before deciding how many screens or controls the product should include.
Respect the audience’s knowledge
People in a specialized field often bring vocabulary and expectations with them. The product should recognize that knowledge without assuming every user has the same experience. Explain unfamiliar details where they appear, and avoid burying the central task beneath introductory marketing language.
Use focus to make decisions
Army Flight Logbook is one example of a focused product within Frameworks. More generally, a clear audience helps a team ask whether a proposed addition belongs. A feature can be interesting and still distract from the work the product is meant to support.
