A path can connect stages. A card entering a section can introduce the next idea. Motion has a clearer role when it expresses a relationship already present in the content. Start with that relationship, then choose the smallest animation that makes it visible.
Keep the destination obvious
If a section unfolds over several scroll steps, people still need to understand how to continue. Provide a clear route past longer sequences and avoid making essential information depend on precise timing. A visitor may be exploring slowly or looking for one answer quickly.
Plan the quiet version
The page should also make sense with reduced motion. Treat that version as part of the design rather than an afterthought. The same headings, content, and actions should remain available even when paths do not draw and cards do not move.
